Retro: First Pregnancy Update

2026 Intro:

Pregnancy updates. It's really weird seeing myself write about Liberty as though she wasn't here in person. The fact that we, at this point, didn't know if she was a boy or girl is crazy. We did have some names picked out, though. Surprisingly, one of those ended up being her name. But yeah, seeing what it was like from my perspective this early on is crazy. And I had a lot of pregnancy and baby updates on this blog, so get ready for that.

Original Post:

So I haven't posted anything yet about the baby, but here goes:

According to the last doctor visit, today India should be 12 weeks and 5 days along.  She's just shy of getting past the big hurdle that is the '1st Trimester'.  Yay!!!  Life certainly has been a lot more interesting these past three months.

She hasn't really had any cravings, but she has loved her some mustard & vinegar, salt & vinegar, and pickles & eggs at one point or another.  Other than that, she said she hasn't 'craved' anything.

Early on, she was extremely moody and temperamental.  She would be sad one minute, then yelling (well, not yelling), but angry the next.  That passed though, so I'm thankful for that.  But her being like that just proved to us that a baby was in there.

The main thing that's been consistent throughout the pregnancy is morning sickness and tiredness.  She's been sick every morning, and lasts most of the day.  And she gets tired about midway through the workday, and pretty much never recovers.  And her bedtime is always around 8 now.  If she's anywhere outside the house after 7:30-8:00, you can tell she pretty much crashes.

Well, that's the first update on Baby Rogers.  We have lots of names picked out, and I'll elaborate next time, if India lets me.  I can't wait until Baby Bart comes out, but I'm trying to live every day slowly, because I know that I'm going to look back and say that it flew by.

And here's our 2nd ultrasound, taken just three weeks after our first, which just showed what looked like a peanut.  Amazing differences.  He was just flipping and dancing around in there.  It was pretty tough to get a good picture.  But he did settle down long enough to get a few good ones.  That long thing, I thought was a leg, but that's the umbilical cord.  There are a couple pictures where you could see the arms and legs clear as day.  And one where he's posing with his arm on his face.  In that one you can see the facial features, although they're not that defined yet.

Until next time
